Riserva di Nonna Rosa Olive Oil represents the essence of Bona Furtuna and La Furtuna Estate. Our most exquisite olive oil yet was named for Steve Luczo's grandmother, Nonna Rosa, who once lived on the exact land where our farm functions today. Steve's search for this heritage land and his family's passion for Sicily lives on in Bona Furtuna.
Olives used to create Riserva di Nonna Rosa are harvested from only the 9 trees which have subsisted on Nonna Rosa's original parcel of land. These Sicilian heirloom olive trees, twisted and worn, have survived decades - ranging from 650 years of age to over 1500 years old. By creating oil from only these olive trees, we pay our respects to the deep Sicilian heritage Bona Furtuna now proudly represents.
Encased individually in a gorgeous wooden case, Bona Furtuna produces only 350 exclusive bottles of the Riserva per year. We capture the rich history of our land every fall harvest in this limited production, and release it during the holidays. Bona Furtuna is honored to pay tribute to Nonna Rosa in this offering, timeless as the olive trees that still adorn the land her family called home.
