Proenza Schouler has come a long way from its conception as the senior thesis of founders Lazaro Hernandez and Jack McCollough. Meeting at Parsons, they became friends through their time at the design school, ultimately resulting in the collaborative thesis that spawned the label as we know it today. With the body of work from their school days, they decided to launch their first collection under the name Proenza Schouler, a combination of both their mothers’ maiden names.
