From her signature crescent moon-print activewear to her upcycled couture, Marine Serre has proven to be both a practical and wildly inventive designer. Sustainability is at the core of her sleek, forward-thinking creations, which for Spring include dresses made from carpeting and jackets crafted from “regenerated” denim. Indeed, the pieces, which are new to BG this season, could not feel more of the moment. Here, the Parisian designer talks us through a few key looks.

“This denim jacket is made for everyday life. It’s crafted from the legs of vintage denim pants— a long, meticulous process. All of the pieces are fully regenerated and unique. I’d wear it with the regenerated skirt.”

“Intended for work, this suit is elegant and comfortable, ageless and genderless. It is made in Italy from a wool blend of recycled fibers. The blazer has a sharply shaped silhouette, but thanks to the soufflé at the back, there is room for movement and expression.”

“This dress is ideal for a special event, styled over the moon leggings. It is made from deadstock and vintage carpets. This is a modern garment in the sense that it is elegant, fast, regenerated and so resilient.”
