About Junya Watanabe:
A protege of Rei Kawakubo, Junya Watanabe began his apprenticeship at Comme des Garcons as a patternmaker before becoming the chief designer of a knitwear line and, later, a designer for Comme des Garcons Homme. In 1992, Watanabe started his own label under the Comme des Garcons brand where he has earned a reputation as a "techno couture" designer, creating cutting-edge, critically acclaimed designs that often incorporate innovative modern, technical materials.
